  • Coralville Iowa

    Coralville, Iowa is located in the east central part of Iowa and shares a boarder with Iowa City, Iowa.  The close physical relationship between Coralville and its neighboring communities offer a wide variety of cultural offerings, attractions and entertainment options for every interest; all of which are light on the pocketbook.  In addition, Coralville has ample parks and trails for those looking for more quiet activities.

    Throughout the year, Coralville is host to a variety of community celebrations.  In January, Coralville Brrr Fest celebrates the beers of winter and the brewers who make them.  Visitors can sample craft beers showcased by more than 40 breweries from across the Midwest.  A portion of the proceeds from Brrr Fest goes towards Coralville's annual 4th of July celebration.  This multi-day event is a community tradition that attracts thousands of visitors and residents each year and includes a 5K run/walk, entertainment, food, free concerts, a carnival, parade, and fireworks.

    Coralville also gets the community and all fans of the University of Iowa revved up for the start of the Hawkeye’s athletic season at FRY Fest.  This one day ‘Celebration of all that is Hawkeye’ brings over 20,000 members of Hawkeye Nation and has become a tradition for fans to travel to Coralville, Iowa each year to take part in the numerous family-friendly activities.  Community members bring an end to the year, and mark the start of the holiday season, with WinterFest that features winter-time demonstrations, indoor and outdoor hands-on activities, entertainment, food, and frosty fun for all ages.

    The Coralville Center for Performing Arts also hosts a number of performances throughout the year, ranging from dance to theater.  S. T. Morrison Park is also where you can catch free music in the park each Thursday throughout the year.  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair, pack a picnic or get hot wood-fired pizza in the park and come listen to some great music.  You can also swing by the local Farmers Market that is held each Monday and Thursday night from May through October.

  • Hiawatha Iowa

    As a part of the Cedar Rapids metro area, Hiawatha, Iowa offers small town atmosphere with a quality of life that encompasses all of the features of the Metro area within a short drive. With a varied mix of activities, ranging from shopping locations to cultural opportunities, Hiawatha provides the best of community and business. 

    For the nature enthusiast, Hiawatha is the trailhead for the Cedar Valley Nature Trail, which is just under 52 miles long. The trail has wildflowers and pockets of native remnant prairie grasses that have been enlarged through the process of burning surrounding brush and non-native plants. The trail is also known to have abundant wildlife and birds to observe.

    Residents of Hiawatha can also stop by the local Farmers Market, which runs mid-April through the end of October on Sundays, where 25 or more entrepreneurs from the area sell home grown and homemade products. These items include, but are not limited to, fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers, an assortment of baked products, preserved food products, arts, and crafts.  The Cedar Rapids and Marion Farmers markets are also a short drive away and provide a nice alternate for days the Hiawatha Farmers Market isn’t open.

    For those seeking to stimulate their artistic side or just to enjoy the Midwest area's cultural diversity, the Metro area offers a vast array of cultural attractions and an abundance of museums, live music, festivals, theatre and entertainment options. The vibrant and accessible art scene enriches the area and makes the Metro area a wonderful place to live and visit.  The Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Department schedules a series of concerts in the month of August on Friday nights to provide entertainment and enjoyment for the community.     One thing Marion is known for is the variety of festivals that are hosted in town for every season.  Starting out the festival season is the Marion Arts Festival held each May.  Consistently named among the top tier of juried art events nationwide, the Marion Arts Festival presents many artists, offering fine arts and crafts, along with music, food and a half-marathon and 5K.  September celebrates the past and the present at the annual Swamp Fox Festival which honors Marion's namesake and Revolutionary War hero, Francis Marion, aka the Swamp Fox.  Some of the many scheduled events include a picnic in the park, live music, craft show, 5K run and fun walk, a pancake breakfast and a parade. 

    During the fall, local businesses come together for the Harvest Moon Chocolate Walk, an annual event that features a chocolate treat in every participating business.  Every December, Marion welcomes Santa by firetruck at Christmas in the Park and Peppermint Walk with music, crafts and peppermint treats.

    While Marion has a variety of festivals to celebrate with the community, the city also boasts a wide assortment of music, art and other activities.  Throughout the summer, live music can be heard at Marion Square Park.  The Uptown Marion Market happens the second Saturday of each month from June to August and features fresh produce, baked goods, honey, flowers, plants, meat, wines, and an array of artisan items.  The Marion Farmers Market also happens each Wednesday and Saturday from May through September. You can also cool off at the Aquatics Center, take a stroll along the sculpture walk, explore fine art at an art gallery or view the historic Granger House.
